SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 423

WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to pay tribute to John R. Heard on the splendid occasion of his 60th birthday; and

WHEREAS, John R. Heard will be adding another candle to his birthday cake on March 14, 2009, when family and friends join him for an evening of camaraderie, dinner, and music in celebration of the momentous event; and

WHEREAS, John Heard earned bachelor's and law degrees with honors from The University of Texas, where he served on the Texas Law Review and as a Teaching Quizmaster; he was a law clerk for a United States district court judge before beginning his law practice in San Antonio in 1976; and

WHEREAS, He is a frequent lecturer at legal seminars addressing social security issues, and he has successfully represented social security claimants for more than 25 years; he is a past president of the National Organization of Social Security Claimants' Representatives and is board certified in civil trial law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization; and

WHEREAS, John R. Heard upholds the highest standards of his profession, and he has earned the admiration and respect of all who know him; the Texas Senate joins his family and friends in honoring so distinguished a gentleman on the notable occasion of his 60th birthday; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 81st Legislature, hereby recognize John R. Heard as a treasured citizen of the State of Texas and extend to him best wishes for a wonderful birthday celebration; and, be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for him as a memento of this special day.
