SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 486

Matthew Wayne Virgel |
|
|
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas joins the |
|
citizens of Greenville in mourning the loss of Matthew Wayne |
|
Virgel, who died March 15, 2009, at the age of 22; and |
|
WHEREAS, Matthew was born August 14, 1986; he was a devout |
|
Christian who dedicated his life to the God he loved; at the time |
|
of his death, he was surrounded by family members and his devoted |
|
fiancée, Lauren Ragsdale; and |
|
WHEREAS, Matthew was an exemplary young man who was |
|
respected by his fellow worshippers and by the community for his |
|
deep commitment to his faith and for his accomplishments; he was |
|
a man of integrity and strength who faced his battle with cancer |
|
courageously; and |
|
WHEREAS, Matthew was an inspiration to those who knew him |
|
and was beloved by his family and friends, and he leaves behind |
|
memories that will be deeply treasured by all who were privileged |
|
to share in his life; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 81st |
|
Legislature, hereby extend sincere condolences to the bereaved |
|
family of Matthew Wayne Virgel: his parents, Terry and Vicki |
|
Virgel and Shaunda and Joe Knight; his brothers and sisters, Jodi |
|
Virgel, Lynn Knight, Joey Knight, Lacey Kendall, and Brian |
|
Virgel; his grandparents, Joann and Dean Harrison, Jackie and |
|
Mary Boles, Pete and Patricia Virgel, and Bob and Jimmie Fulton; |
|
and his great-grandparents, Imogene Boles, Homer Blevins, Doug |
|
and Glenn Martin, and Martha Harrison; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for |
|
the members of his family as an expression of deepest sympathy |
|
from the Texas Senate, and that when the Senate adjourns this |
|
day, it do so in memory of Matthew Virgel. |
