SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 619
 
 
  In Memory
  of
  Lenzell Coby, Sr.
 
         WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas joins the
  citizens of Longview and Houston in mourning the loss of Lenzell
  Coby, Sr., who died March 10, 2009; and
 
         WHEREAS, Lenzell Coby was born in Gladewater, Texas;
  before moving to Longview, he lived in Houston, where he worked
  for Emsco Steel and operated Coby's Barber Shop; he attended
  Progressive New Hope Baptist Church and was a member of the
  Masonic Lodge; and
 
         WHEREAS, After moving to Longview, he opened Friendly
  Barber Shop and joined Red Oak Missionary Baptist Church, where
  he was a faithful member and cochairman of the Deacon Board; and
 
         WHEREAS, Lenzell was well liked and respected by his
  community; known for his wisdom and warmth, he was a mentor and a
  source of strength to others; and
 
         WHEREAS, Lenzell was beloved by many for his good humor and
  generous spirit, and he leaves behind memories that will be
  treasured forever by his family and many friends; now, therefore,
  be it
 
         RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 81st
  Legislature, hereby extend sincere condolences to the bereaved
  family of Lenzell Coby, Sr.; and, be it further
 
         RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
  the members of his family as an expression of deepest sympathy
  from the Texas Senate, and that when the Senate adjourns this
  day, it do so in memory of Lenzell Coby, Sr.
