SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 643
 
 
  In Memory
  of
  Wayne Kelley
 
         WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas joins the
  citizens of Austin in mourning the loss of Wayne Kelley, who died
  April 12, 2009, at the age of 55; and
         WHEREAS, Wayne Kelley was born October 31, 1953; for more
  than 20 years, he played an important role in the governance of
  our state, working with members of the Texas Legislature,
  legislative committees, and leadership in various state
  agencies; and
         WHEREAS, Mr. Kelley began his career in state service in
  1976 as a budget analyst with the Office of the Comptroller of
  Public Accounts; through the years, he worked diligently in both
  the public and private sectors to help ensure that our state
  implemented policies that worked to the benefit of all Texans;
  and
         WHEREAS, Mr. Kelley served in a diverse array of positions
  throughout his career; he provided direction and dedication at
  the Texas Natural Resource Conservation Commission, the
  governor's office, the Texas Department of Agriculture, the
  Capital Metropolitan Transportation Authority, and the
  Legislative Budget Board; and
         WHEREAS, A man of courage, strength, and compassion, he
  gave unselfishly to others, and his wisdom, kindness, and valued
  counsel will not be forgotten by those who knew him; and
         WHEREAS, He was a devoted husband and father, and his
  family and many friends will continue to live with the cherished
  memories of his life and his many accomplishments; now,
  therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 81st
  Legislature, hereby extend sincere condolences to the bereaved
  family of Wayne Kelley: his wife, Brenda Kelley; and his sons,
  Marlon and Marvin Kelley; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
  his family as an expression of deepest sympathy from the Texas
  Senate, and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it do so in
  memory of Wayne Kelley.
