SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 648
         WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to pay
  tribute to Elnor Lee Garrett Moran on the grand occasion of her
  100th birthday; and
 
         WHEREAS, A true Texan possessed of an independent spirit
  and strong will, this gracious lady is well known for her charm
  and generosity of spirit, and she is a revered resident of
  Houston; and
 
         WHEREAS, Elnor Lee Garrett Moran was born May 14, 1909, in
  Ponta to Mary Eliza Dotson and Wilmoth Garrett; a fourth
  generation Texan, she married Clyde Moran in 1932, and the couple
  raised four children, Walter, Henry, Richard, and Mary, whose
  families now represent an additional four generations of Texans;
  and
 
         WHEREAS, A 1928 graduate of Grapeland High School, Mrs.
  Moran attended Tyler Commercial School and worked in the legal
  profession; she has borne witness to many momentous events over
  the course of her long and productive life; and
 
         WHEREAS, Mrs. Moran is a devout Christian who practices her
  faith in her daily life; a beloved and respected member of her
  community, she is noted for her courage, her compassion for
  others, and her enthusiasm for living each day to the fullest;
  now, therefore, be it
 
         RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 81st
  Legislature, hereby recognize Elnor Lee Garrett Moran as a
  treasured citizen of our state and extend to her heartfelt
  congratulations on her 100th birthday; and, be it further
 
         RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
  her as an expression of high regard from the Texas Senate.
