SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 661

WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to pay tribute to Laverne L. Clark on the grand occasion of his 80th birthday; and

WHEREAS, Laverne Clark was born on April 24, 1929; he retired from Maxwell House after 35 years of loyal service; and

WHEREAS, A revered and respected member of his community, he is noted for his courage, his compassion for others, and his enthusiasm for living each day to the fullest; and

WHEREAS, He is a fan of the Houston Rockets and the Houston Texans and enjoys bowling and watching wrestling; and

WHEREAS, He also enjoys spending time with his wife, Rosemary, and his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren; and

WHEREAS, On Saturday, April 25, he is being joined by his family and his many friends, who are celebrating his 80th birthday with a surprise party; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 81st Legislature, hereby recognize Laverne L. Clark as a treasured citizen of the State of Texas and extend to him best wishes for a wonderful birthday party; and, be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for Laverne L. Clark as a memento of this special event.
