SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 668

WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to recognize Houston Community College on the occasion of the dedication of its Missouri City Campus on May 26, 2009; and

WHEREAS, The 45,000-square-foot academic center is located at 5855 Sienna Springs Way and Sienna Parkway in Missouri City and is the cornerstone of a 50-acre master-planned site; and

WHEREAS, The new, state-of-the-art educational facility can accommodate more than 2,000 students in its 22 classrooms, 13 lecture rooms, seven multipurpose rooms, and a science laboratory; the center will also house student services and faculty offices; and

WHEREAS, Houston Community College is offering a full compliment of undergraduate and continuing education classes to the residents of Missouri City and Fort Bend County and collaborating with the community to provide a joint library facility; and

WHEREAS, Members of the board of trustees, the faculty, and the administration of Houston Community College have shown their commitment to providing the residents of Missouri City and Fort Bend County with a high-quality educational facility, and they are to be commended for their efforts; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 81st Legislature, hereby congratulate all those associated with Houston Community College on the grand opening of the Missouri City Campus and extend best wishes to all for a wonderful dedication ceremony; and, be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared to commemorate this special occasion.
