SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 679
         WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
  recognize Adam Taylor of Troop 924, Sam Houston Area Council of
  the Boy Scouts of America, who has attained the rank of Eagle
  Scout, a rank achieved by only four out of every 100 boys in the
  program; and
         WHEREAS, Adam advanced through the ranks of Tenderfoot,
  Second, First, Star, and Life classes before reaching the rank of
  Eagle Scout by following the principles of the Scout oath and
  promise; he displayed outstanding leadership through the
  planning and execution of a service project that has benefited
  his community; and
         WHEREAS, For his Eagle Scout project, Adam organized 31
  volunteers into work crews and acquired materials, tools, and
  plants to construct a permanent shade arbor and picnic tables for
  the enjoyment of the parishioners and the community of Saint
  Mark's United Methodist Church in Houston; and
         WHEREAS, By becoming an Eagle Scout, Adam has earned the
  admiration and respect of his family, his troop, and his
  community; he is an exceptional representative of the young
  people of the State of Texas; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 81st
  Legislature, hereby commend Adam Taylor for earning the rank of
  Eagle Scout and congratulate him on his great achievement; and,
  be it further
         RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
  Eagle Scout Taylor as an expression of high regard from the Texas
  Senate.
