SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 706
 
 
  In Memory
  of
  A. Gale Cornyn
 
         WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas joins the
  citizens of San Antonio in mourning the loss of A. Gale Cornyn,
  who died April 3, 2009, at the age of 87; and
         WHEREAS, A. Gale Cornyn was born December 27, 1921, in
  Robstown; she met her husband, John, while he was stationed at
  the United States Naval Air Station in Corpus Christi, and the
  couple shared a loving marriage for more than four decades; and
         WHEREAS, During Mr. Cornyn's 31-year career in the United
  States Air Force, the couple lived in many different locations
  throughout the world, including such postings as Frankfurt,
  Germany, Washington, D.C., and Tokyo, Japan; they retired in San
  Antonio in 1974; and
         WHEREAS, Mrs. Cornyn possessed an independent spirit, and
  she was devoted to the pursuit of politics; she was a devout
  Christian who practiced her faith in her daily life; and
         WHEREAS, A woman of courage, strength, and compassion, she
  gave generously to others, and her outgoing nature and enthusiasm
  for living each day to the fullest will not be forgotten by those
  who knew her; and
         WHEREAS, A devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, she
  leaves behind memories that will be cherished forever by her
  family and many friends; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 81st
  Legislature, hereby extend sincere condolences to the bereaved
  family of A. Gale Cornyn: her daughter, Olivia Diann; her sons
  and daughter-in-law, John and Sandy Cornyn and Mark Cornyn; and
  her grandchildren, Gabriel, Danley, and Haley; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
  her family as an expression of deepest sympathy from the Texas
  Senate, and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it do so in
  memory of A. Gale Cornyn.
