A. Gale Cornyn |
| |
|
|
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas joins the |
|
|
citizens of San Antonio in mourning the loss of A. Gale Cornyn, |
|
|
who died April 3, 2009, at the age of 87; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, A. Gale Cornyn was born December 27, 1921, in |
|
|
Robstown; she met her husband, John, while he was stationed at |
|
|
the United States Naval Air Station in Corpus Christi, and the |
|
|
couple shared a loving marriage for more than four decades; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, During Mr. Cornyn's 31-year career in the United |
|
|
States Air Force, the couple lived in many different locations |
|
|
throughout the world, including such postings as Frankfurt, |
|
|
Germany, Washington, D.C., and Tokyo, Japan; they retired in San |
|
|
Antonio in 1974; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Mrs. Cornyn possessed an independent spirit, and |
|
|
she was devoted to the pursuit of politics; she was a devout |
|
|
Christian who practiced her faith in her daily life; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, A woman of courage, strength, and compassion, she |
|
|
gave generously to others, and her outgoing nature and enthusiasm |
|
|
for living each day to the fullest will not be forgotten by those |
|
|
who knew her; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, A devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, she |
|
|
leaves behind memories that will be cherished forever by her |
|
|
family and many friends; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 81st |
|
|
Legislature, hereby extend sincere condolences to the bereaved |
|
|
family of A. Gale Cornyn: her daughter, Olivia Diann; her sons |
|
|
and daughter-in-law, John and Sandy Cornyn and Mark Cornyn; and |
|
|
her grandchildren, Gabriel, Danley, and Haley; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for |
|
|
her family as an expression of deepest sympathy from the Texas |
|
|
Senate, and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it do so in |
|
|
memory of A. Gale Cornyn. |
