SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 742
         WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
  recognize Kevin Fitzpatrick of Bandera, who is being inducted
  into the Frontier Times Museum Hall of Honor in Bandera on July
  25, 2009; and
         WHEREAS, The Frontier Times Museum was established in 1933
  by J. Marvin Hunter to showcase the exploits of the pioneers
  whose courage and strength of character played a major role in
  the opening of the West and the creation of the icon known as the
  true Texan; and
         WHEREAS, The 2008 world champion trick roper, Mr.
  Fitzpatrick has delighted audiences around the world with his
  skill and charm; and
         WHEREAS, Mr. Fitzpatrick has served for many years as an
  emissary of goodwill, acting as an ambassador at the Texas
  Folklife Festival; his devotion to his family, his community, and
  his state makes him an ideal representative for the cowboy way of
  life; and
         WHEREAS, Kevin Fitzpatrick embodies the principles and
  courage exhibited by the early pioneers memorialized in the
  Frontier Times Museum, and it is truly fitting that he receive
  this singular honor on July 25, 2009, the National Day of the
  American Cowboy; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 81st
  Legislature, hereby commend Kevin Fitzpatrick for his many
  contributions to the rich legacy of our state and extend to him
  best wishes for continued success in all his future endeavors;
  and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
  him as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
