SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 747
         WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
  recognize Houston Community College Northwest on the occasion of
  the renaming of its Town and Country Campus; and
 
         WHEREAS, Northwest College is one of six major branches of
  the Houston Community College district; its two campuses, the
  Katy Campus and the campus formerly known as the Town and Country
  Campus, primarily serve the Katy and Spring Branch communities
  and also serve some areas of the Houston Independent School
  District; and
 
         WHEREAS, This year, the Town and Country Campus has been
  renamed the Spring Branch Campus; the campus opened in 2001 to
  serve 3,600 students; enrollment quickly grew, and the campus now
  serves 7,000 students; and
 
         WHEREAS, Since 1992, Houston Community College has offered
  dual credit classes for Spring Branch Independent School
  District students; its Northwest College is dedicated to
  bringing the highest quality education to the West Houston area,
  and the Spring Branch Campus offers a wide variety of courses and
  training programs that enable students to earn two-year academic
  degrees and workforce certifications; now, therefore, be it
 
         RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 81st
  Legislature, hereby congratulate Houston Community College
  Northwest on the educational opportunities it offers the
  community and on renaming its Town and Country Campus the Spring
  Branch Campus; and, be it further
 
         RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared in
  honor of this occasion.
