SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 751
|
|
|
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to |
|
|
recognize Nancy Jurecka Wilkins on the occasion of her retirement |
|
|
from the Office of the Comptroller of Public Accounts on May 31, |
|
|
2009, after more than 27 years of loyal service; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Nancy Wilkins began her career in the |
|
|
comptroller's office with the Audit Division after graduating |
|
|
from The University of Texas at Austin; she developed her skills |
|
|
in the Corpus Christi and Austin field offices, and she was |
|
|
transferred to Audit Headquarters in 1987; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, She became an integral part of the Audit |
|
|
Headquarters Technical Support Group over the years as she took |
|
|
the leading role in many projects, including the Informant |
|
|
Recovery Program and the development of audit procedures for the |
|
|
convenience store industry; she is noted for her outstanding |
|
|
success in keeping audit headquarters organized and employees |
|
|
well-informed; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, As liaison with the racing commission, Nancy |
|
|
became the resident expert on audit issues concerning |
|
|
pari-mutuel horse racing and greyhound racing; as part of the |
|
|
Fraud Referral Program, she provided vital coordination between |
|
|
the Fraud Committee and 21 field offices; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Throughout her career with the comptroller's |
|
|
office, she handled her many responsibilities with exceptional |
|
|
efficiency and dedication; she earned the admiration and respect |
|
|
of her colleagues, and her presence in the Office of the |
|
|
Comptroller of Public Accounts will be greatly missed; now, |
|
|
therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 81st |
|
|
Legislature, hereby commend Nancy Jurecka Wilkins for her |
|
|
outstanding service and her many contributions to our state and |
|
|
extend to her best wishes for the retirement years ahead; and, be |
|
|
it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for |
|
|
her as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate. |
