SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 761

WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to recognize Seven Acres Jewish Senior Care Services in Houston, which is celebrating the Sara Feldt and Bertha Dattle Memorial Annual Older Americans Day on May 10, 2009; and

WHEREAS, The Annual Older Americans Day coincides with the observance of Older Americans Month during the month of May; each year Americans across the nation pay tribute to the older citizens of this country whose service, patriotism, and responsibility have provided a legacy for younger generations; and

WHEREAS, The Seven Acres Jewish Senior Care Services in Houston provides a wide range of services for some 290 residents; it is located adjacent to The Medallion Jewish Assisted Living Residence, which houses 51 residents, and it is celebrating its 66th year caring for the elderly of the Texas Gulf Coast; and

WHEREAS, Many members of the elderly population continue to play a vital role in their community and spend numerous hours volunteering on behalf of hospitals, schools, and philanthropic organizations; and

WHEREAS, It is indeed appropriate to set aside a special time to honor our elderly citizens for their many contributions to society and the legacy of service they provide; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 81st Legislature, hereby commend Seven Acres Jewish Senior Care Services in Houston for their efforts on behalf of older citizens and extend best wishes to the management, staff, and residents for a memorable Older Americans Day event; and, be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared in honor of the event as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
