SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 771
         WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
  recognize Velma Ann Edwards for her outstanding success as an
  exemplary mother; and
 
         WHEREAS, Velma Ann Edwards is the proud mother of two grown
  daughters, Rhonda Milton and Marquelyn Ward; during their
  childhood, she made many sacrifices to ensure that they would
  have not just the essentials, but everything they needed to reach
  their goals in life; and
 
         WHEREAS, Strong-willed and determined, she consistently
  protected the welfare of her daughters and instilled in them a
  positive sense of self-esteem and a loving character; with their
  kindness, compassion, and enduring faith, they have rewarded her
  with the knowledge that her many efforts have borne fruit; and
 
         WHEREAS, With encouragement, discipline, and enduring love
  for her daughters, she has dedicated her life to being the best
  mother she could be; she is truly deserving of recognition for
  her devotion to her daughters and her success in creating the
  lasting and cherished bonds that hold together this close-knit
  family; now, therefore, be it
 
         RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 81st
  Legislature, hereby commend Velma Ann Edwards on her commitment
  to motherhood and extend to her best wishes for continued success
  in all her endeavors; and, be it further
 
         RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
  her as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
