SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 809
|
|
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to |
|
recognize the San Antonio Chapter of the Texas State Society of |
|
the Sons of the American Revolution; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, The San Antonio Chapter was chartered by both the |
|
state and national societies of the Sons of the American |
|
Revolution in 1930 on Patriots Day, April 19, the anniversary of |
|
the battles of Lexington and Concord; this year the chapter is |
|
celebrating its 79th anniversary; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, The Sons of the American Revolution is a society |
|
that was formed to honor the ideals, principles, and liberties |
|
held fast by our nation's founding fathers; it is a historical, |
|
educational, and patriotic nonprofit organization; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, The San Antonio Chapter seeks to perpetuate the |
|
stories of the patriotism, courage, and sacrifice of those who |
|
fought for the independence of the American people and to inspire |
|
today's citizens and succeeding generations to pay homage to our |
|
nation's beginnings and the spirit of democracy; now, therefore, |
|
be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 81st |
|
Legislature, hereby commend the San Antonio Chapter of the Texas |
|
State Society of the Sons of the American Revolution for its work |
|
in fostering patriotism and public awareness of our nation's |
|
history and founding principles and extend best wishes to its |
|
members on the occasion of the chapter's 79th anniversary; and, |
|
be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for |
|
the chapter in honor of this special day. |
