SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 809
         WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
  recognize the San Antonio Chapter of the Texas State Society of
  the Sons of the American Revolution; and
 
         WHEREAS, The San Antonio Chapter was chartered by both the
  state and national societies of the Sons of the American
  Revolution in 1930 on Patriots Day, April 19, the anniversary of
  the battles of Lexington and Concord; this year the chapter is
  celebrating its 79th anniversary; and
 
         WHEREAS, The Sons of the American Revolution is a society
  that was formed to honor the ideals, principles, and liberties
  held fast by our nation's founding fathers; it is a historical,
  educational, and patriotic nonprofit organization; and
 
         WHEREAS, The San Antonio Chapter seeks to perpetuate the
  stories of the patriotism, courage, and sacrifice of those who
  fought for the independence of the American people and to inspire
  today's citizens and succeeding generations to pay homage to our
  nation's beginnings and the spirit of democracy; now, therefore,
  be it
 
         RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 81st
  Legislature, hereby commend the San Antonio Chapter of the Texas
  State Society of the Sons of the American Revolution for its work
  in fostering patriotism and public awareness of our nation's
  history and founding principles and extend best wishes to its
  members on the occasion of the chapter's 79th anniversary; and,
  be it further
 
         RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
  the chapter in honor of this special day.
