SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 846
         WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
  recognize Akila Haley-Pinder, of Houston, on the occasion of her
  graduation from the Texas School for the Deaf; and
 
         WHEREAS, Akila's graduation is the culmination of diligent
  study in a curriculum designed to challenge her and broaden her
  knowledge; she will celebrate this important milestone at
  commencement exercises on June 4, 2009, in the R. L. Davis
  Auditorium in Austin; and
 
         WHEREAS, During her years at the Texas School for the Deaf,
  Akila has proven herself an outgoing and successful student, and
  she has participated in a wide array of sports, including
  basketball, tennis, and track; and
 
         WHEREAS, This bright and ambitious student plans to
  continue her education in the 18+ Program at the Texas School for
  the Deaf, and she hopes to pursue a career in the retail field;
  and
 
         WHEREAS, Akila's time at the Texas School for the Deaf was
  filled with memorable experiences, and she faces the future with
  full confidence in her accomplishments, her skills, and her
  preparation for life; now, therefore, be it
 
         RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 81st
  Legislature, hereby commend Akila Haley-Pinder on her graduation
  from the Texas School for the Deaf and extend to her best wishes
  for success in all her future endeavors; and, be it further
 
         RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
  her as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
