SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 848
         WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
  recognize National Image, Incorporated, on the occasion of its
  Salute to Disabled American Veterans event taking place in San
  Antonio on May 16, 2009, as part of its annual training
  conference and exposition; and
         WHEREAS, National Image, Incorporated, was founded in 1972
  to address the needs of the Hispanic community in federal
  government employment; since then, the membership has expanded
  the organization's objectives to include all employment,
  education, and civil rights; and
         WHEREAS, National Image has shown special concern for
  disabled American veterans and the challenges they encounter,
  including physical and mental health problems, difficulty in
  obtaining employment, and family crises; and
         WHEREAS, At its Salute to Disabled American Veterans,
  National Image will be joined by representatives of the
  Department of Veterans Affairs, the League of United Latin
  American Citizens, the American GI Forum, and the San Antonio
  Coalition of Veterans, who will address issues concerning
  veterans and their dependents; and
         WHEREAS, With its theme, "Helping US Keep the Promise to
  Our Nation's Veterans," the Salute to Disabled Veterans will
  offer informative workshops and discussions about ways to assist
  veterans and the organizations that help them in learning more
  about veterans benefits, educational opportunities, home
  foreclosure prevention, treatment for post-traumatic stress
  disorder, counseling services, and more; and
         WHEREAS, National Image is truly engaged in a worthy
  endeavor in behalf of our nation's veterans; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 81st
  Legislature, hereby commend National Image, Incorporated, for
  its efforts to honor and to help disabled veterans and extend to
  them best wishes for a successful and productive event; and, be
  it further
         RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
  the organization as an expression of esteem from the Texas
  Senate.
