SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 877
 
 
  In Memory
  of
  Randy White
 
         WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas joins the
  citizens of Perrin and Bridgeport and Texans across the state in
  mourning the loss of Bridgeport Police Sergeant Randy White, who
  died April 2, 2009, at the age of 32; and
         WHEREAS, Randy White had worked for the Bridgeport Police
  Department for five years and was the first Bridgeport police
  officer killed in the line of duty; his death is a tragic reminder
  of the sacrifices made daily by the members of law enforcement
  and their families; and
         WHEREAS, Randy was an outstanding police officer who was
  respected and admired by his colleagues and by all who knew him; a
  member of the Special Weapons and Tactics team, a field training
  officer, and a patrol supervisor, he was renowned for his
  courage, his reliability, and his compassion for others; and
         WHEREAS, He was born in Oklahoma City on March 21, 1977, to
  Dewayne and Judy White; a devout Christian who lived his faith in
  his daily life, Randy was a member of the First Baptist Church in
  Perrin; he was a thoughtful, humble gentleman known for his love
  for his family and his enthusiastic support of the Oklahoma
  Sooners; and
         WHEREAS, He was a devoted husband, father, and son, and he
  leaves behind memories that will be treasured forever by his
  family and many friends; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 81st
  Legislature, hereby pay tribute to the life of Sergeant Randy
  White and extend sincere condolences to his bereaved family: his
  wife, Janet; his daughter, Jadyn; his mother, Judy White; his
  father and stepmother, Dewayne and Lu White; his sister, Angie
  White; his brother, Michael White; and his grandmother, Norma
  Henley; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
  his family as an expression of deepest sympathy, and that when
  the Senate adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Bridgeport
  Police Officer Randy White.
