SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 880

WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to recognize the Greater El Bethel Baptist Church of Dallas, Texas, on the grand occasion of its 20th Year Homecoming and on its more than 100 years of service to the community; and

WHEREAS, Over the last century, the Greater El Bethel Baptist Church has ministered faithfully to the needs of the citizens of Dallas, and due to the guidance and wise stewardship of its pastors, the church has undertaken many worthy projects in the community; and

WHEREAS, Located in the 10th Street Historical District of Dallas, the church has participated in conventions and conferences, and its clergy and members have traveled to many cities in support of the church's ministry; and

WHEREAS, The church has aided the community by hosting clothing drives, food programs, health fairs, and programs to provide donations to the homeless; the church is known for its music ministry, and its talented choir members have given performances in numerous cities across the country; and

WHEREAS, The Greater El Bethel Baptist Church deserves recognition for more than 100 years of outstanding service in the Dallas area and for the support and inspiration it provides its members and the community; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 81st Legislature, hereby extend appreciation and best wishes to the clergy and members of the Greater El Bethel Baptist Church; and, be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for the church as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
