SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 896
         WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to pay
  tribute to Dr. James Albert Hill, Sr., on the momentous occasion
  of his 75th birthday; and
 
         WHEREAS, James Hill was born on June 10, 1934, in Chicago,
  Illinois; he was ordained in the Christian ministry on October 3,
  1950; he graduated from the Chicago Baptist Seminary in January
  of 1959 and served in Illinois, Alaska, Michigan, Indiana,
  Tennessee, Arkansas, Washington, and Texas; over the years, he
  taught in several public school systems; and
 
         WHEREAS, He holds degrees from Saint John's University,
  Clarksville School of Theology, the American Divinity School,
  and United Theological Seminary and Bible College; while serving
  in the United States Army Medical Service Corps, he received a
  bachelor of laws degree from the Blackstone School of Law; he has
  received many honorary degrees; and
 
         WHEREAS, Dr. Hill is listed in Who's Who Among Black
  Americans and holds memberships in many organizations, including
  the American Ministerial Association, The American Sociological
  Association, the National Urban League, and the National
  Association for the Advancement of Colored People; and
 
         WHEREAS, Dr. Hill is indeed a gentleman of many
  accomplishments; he is noted as a good pastor, a good teacher, a
  good friend, and a devoted family man; now, therefore, be it
 
         RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 81st
  Legislature, hereby recognize Dr. James Albert Hill, Sr., as a
  treasured citizen of the State of Texas and join his family and
  friends in extending to him best wishes for a wonderful birthday
  celebration; and, be it further
 
         RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
  Dr. Hill to commemorate this special day.
