SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 931

WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to recognize Daniel Rocha on the momentous occasion of his graduation from the United States Naval Academy; and

WHEREAS, Daniel is graduating from the United States Naval Academy on May 22, 2009, with a bachelor's degree in history; and

WHEREAS, Daniel is an exemplary young man who has been a high achiever in many areas through the years; he was a member of the varsity football team and a National Hispanic Scholar at Tomball High School, and he achieved the coveted rank of Eagle Scout; and

WHEREAS, During his time as a midshipman at Annapolis, Daniel was a member of the bicycling team, the men's rugby team, the Catholic Choir, and the men's Glee Club; he also served as a platoon commander within the Combat Fitness Program and was adjutant for Company 15 for a semester; and

WHEREAS, Daniel has planned well for his future, and his notable achievements in school bear witness to his dedication and outstanding abilities; upon graduation, he will serve our nation as a surface warfare officer aboard the USS Guardian; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 81st Legislature, hereby commend Daniel Rocha on earning a bachelor's degree from the United States Naval Academy and extend to him best wishes for success in the years ahead; and, be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for him as an expression of high regard from the Texas Senate.
