SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 949
 
 
  In Memory
  of
  Francisco L. Quintanilla
 
         WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas joins the
  citizens of Corpus Christi in mourning the loss of Francisco L.
  "Frank" Quintanilla, who died February 24, 2009, at the age of
  91; and
         WHEREAS, Mr. Quintanilla was an exemplary citizen who was
  respected in his community for his many achievements; he was a
  dedicated employee of the Corpus Christi Army Depot for 30 years;
  and
         WHEREAS, Mr. Quintanilla was a proud veteran of World War
  II; he fought in the Battle of the Bulge and earned numerous
  medals and commendations, including the American Theatre
  Campaign Medal, the European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign
  Medal with 2 Bronze Stars, and a Purple Heart; and
         WHEREAS, Mr. Quintanilla was a member of El Buen Pastor
  United Methodist Church, where he oversaw distribution for the
  Food Bank and was a volunteer for the Metro Ministries; he was
  married to the late Angelita C. Quintanilla; and
         WHEREAS, A man of courage, compassion, and kindness, he
  gave unselfishly to others, and his wisdom and valued counsel
  will not be forgotten by those who knew him; and
         WHEREAS, He was devoted to his family, and he will long be
  remembered for his generosity and many accomplishments; now,
  therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 81st
  Legislature, hereby extend sincere condolences to the bereaved
  family of Francisco Quintanilla; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
  his family as an expression of deepest sympathy from the Texas
  Senate, and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it do so in
  memory of Francisco L. Quintanilla.
