SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 962

WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to recognize Mr. Paul Strelzin for his induction into the El Paso Athletic Hall of Fame; and

WHEREAS, Mr. Strelzin was one of eight new members inducted into the El Paso Athletic Hall of Fame at a ceremony in the Tomas Rivera Conference Room at The University of Texas at El Paso; and

WHEREAS, Each year, the El Paso Athletic Hall of Fame honors individuals for their participation in, management of, or support of athletics; and

WHEREAS, Mr. Strelzin was inducted into the El Paso Athletic Hall of Fame in the Supporter of Athletics category; and

WHEREAS, Mr. Strelzin is the voice behind virtually every sports team in El Paso, and he probably was the most famous announcer for University of Texas at El Paso basketball and El Paso Diablos baseball; and

WHEREAS, Today, Mr. Strelzin still works his booming verbal magic on every sport he can; and

WHEREAS, Mr. Strelzin is a legend in the El Paso sports community; and

WHEREAS, Mr. Strelzin is also a veteran educator and a former principal at Bowie High School; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 81st Legislature, hereby commend Mr. Paul Strelzin on his induction into the El Paso Athletic Hall of Fame; and, be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for him as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
