SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 965
         WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
  recognize Alma Tamayo, who is retiring after nearly 30 years of
  outstanding service to the Office of the Comptroller of Public
  Accounts; and
         WHEREAS, Alma began her career with the comptroller's
  office in 1979 as an administrative clerk providing taxpayer
  service in the field office in her hometown of El Paso; she was
  promoted in 1984 and became an enforcement officer, responsible
  for enforcing tax laws, conducting roadside inspections of
  trucker permits, and presenting taxpayer seminars; and
         WHEREAS, Over the course of her career, Alma has been noted
  for her diligence and her analytical expertise; in 1986, she was
  transferred to the Austin Field Office, and she moved into the
  Headquarters Collections Support section as a systems analyst in
  1987; she soon became a valued member of the Automated Collection
  System project team, which led her to the Systems Administration
  section, where she remained for the next 20 years; and
         WHEREAS, Alma has proven herself to be a skilled and
  resourceful employee, providing systems development, performing
  analytical research, and maintaining programming support for the
  Enforcement Division and the executive administration; and
         WHEREAS, Alma is an exceptional public servant and has
  earned the respect and esteem of her colleagues, and she will be
  greatly missed in the Office of the Comptroller of Public
  Accounts; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 81st
  Legislature, hereby commend Alma Tamayo on her many years of
  exemplary service to our state and the Office of the Comptroller
  of Public Accounts and extend to her best wishes for her
  retirement years; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
  her as an expression of high regard from the Texas Senate.
