SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 966

WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to recognize Art Cory, who is retiring from his position as director of the Property Tax Assistance Division in the Office of the Comptroller of Public Accounts; and

WHEREAS, Mr. Cory is retiring after a career in public service that has seen him serve in the armed forces, develop software for the National Aeronautics and Space Administration, and serve in the Harris and Travis County Central Appraisal Districts in addition to his service in the comptroller's office; and

WHEREAS, Throughout his career, Mr. Cory has been noted for his superior skills and expertise; talented and resourceful, he has handled his many responsibilities with exceptional efficiency and dedication; and

WHEREAS, An exemplary public servant, Mr. Cory is respected and admired by his colleagues, and his presence at the Office of the Comptroller of Public Accounts will be greatly missed; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 81st Legislature, hereby commend Art Cory on his exceptional public service and extend to him best wishes for the retirement years ahead; and, be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for him as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
