SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 974

WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to recognize National Elite Gymnastics and its outstanding young athletes for their many accomplishments; and

WHEREAS, National Elite Gymnastics was founded in 1988 as a means to further the belief that, when properly taught, gymnastics can serve as a medium to encourage a lifelong devotion to physical fitness; under the leadership of owner and operator Mark England, this exemplary organization has endeavored to achieve its goal of developing children with strong mental, physical, and social attributes; and

WHEREAS, Among the many young athletes who have benefited from this exceptional program are Rylee Barrios, Sara Boswell, Baylie Bright, Destiny Garcia, and Kearra McGraw; and

WHEREAS, Rylee has excelled at Level 6, winning the All-Around title in the Level 6 Senior A category at the South State Competition; Sara has advanced to Level 8, winning the Region 3 Regional uneven bars and All-Around Championship; and

WHEREAS, Baylie competed in the Level 5 Senior B category, winning the South State All-Around Championship; Destiny competed in the Level 6 Junior B category and won the Level 6 Junior B All-Around Championship; Kearra competed in the Level 5 Junior B category and became the All-Around South State Champion; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 81st Legislature, hereby commend National Elite Gymnastics on its commitment to providing programs for children at all skill levels and extend congratulations to its athletes on their recent outstanding successes; and, be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for them as an expression of high regard from the Texas Senate.
