SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 980
         WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
  recognize Mary Wallin on the occasion of her retirement from the
  Texas Commission on Environmental Quality after 20 years of loyal
  service to the state; and
 
         WHEREAS, Mary began working for the state in 1988 as a file
  clerk in the Technical Services Division of the Texas Air Control
  Board; the board merged with the Texas Water Commission and
  became the Texas Natural Resource Conservation Commission in
  1993, and the name of the commission was changed to the Texas
  Commission on Environmental Quality in 2002; she worked her way
  up in the agency, achieving positions of ever-greater
  responsibility; and
 
         WHEREAS, Throughout her career with the state, Mary
  demonstrated superior organizational and leadership skills, and
  she handled her many responsibilities with exceptional
  efficiency and dedication; she is currently work leader in the
  Enforcement Division; in 2008, she received awards as Employee of
  the Second Quarter and Employee of the Year; and
 
         WHEREAS, An exemplary public servant, Mary has been an
  inspiration to those who have had the pleasure to know and to work
  with her, and her presence at the Texas Commission on
  Environmental Quality will be greatly missed; now, therefore, be
  it
 
         RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 81st
  Legislature, hereby commend Mary Wallin for her valuable service
  and her many contributions to the state and extend to her
  congratulations on her retirement; and, be it further
 
         RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
  her as an expression of appreciation from the Texas Senate.
