SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 990
|
|
|
WHEREAS, YWCA Fort Worth & Tarrant County is a vibrant |
|
|
organization "dedicated to eliminating racism, empowering women |
|
|
and promoting peace, justice, freedom and dignity for all;" and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Judi V. Bishop has served as Executive Director of |
|
|
YWCA Fort Worth & Tarrant County for more than 20 years; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, The YWCA provides dialogue on race and the |
|
|
Institute for Public Leadership and strives to help people in our |
|
|
community understand the repercussions of white privilege and |
|
|
institutional racism; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Judi V. Bishop has built the YWCA into one of the |
|
|
most respected YWCAs in the country and one of the most dedicated |
|
|
and hard-working nonprofit organizations in Tarrant County; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, For 20 years, Judi V. Bishop has been leading the |
|
|
charge to provide important services to homeless and |
|
|
disadvantaged women and children in this community and providing |
|
|
those services with compassion, integrity, business acuity, and |
|
|
a healthy dose of common sense; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Judi has worked diligently to collaborate with |
|
|
other community agencies to ensure that women and children have |
|
|
services available to them at no cost or a small cost and that |
|
|
there is not costly duplication of services and has positively |
|
|
impacted so many lives, of both clients and staff; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Judi has been an astute business leader and role |
|
|
model for so any nonprofit executive directors, members of Boards |
|
|
of Directors and staff over the years; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 81st |
|
|
Legislature, hereby commend Judi V. Bishop for her hard work and |
|
|
determination to help those in need and extend to her sincere |
|
|
best wishes for the future; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this Resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Judi as an expression of high regard from the Texas |
|
|
Senate. |
