SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 991
         WHEREAS, The first annual reunion of the family of Mary
  Proctor Foster in Fort Worth in July 2009 is a fitting
  opportunity to celebrate the life of one of the family's
  distinguished elders, Bonnie Mae Clayton; and
         WHEREAS, The daughter of Mary Proctor Foster and Eckie
  Amos, Bonnie Mae Amos-Foster was born in Mexia on November 18,
  1919, and she currently lives in Fort Worth; and
         WHEREAS, She was married to the late L. J. Clayton, and she
  has been blessed with 12 children, 26 grandchildren, 33
  great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren; and
         WHEREAS, Mrs. Clayton's varied career has included work as
  a cook, in sales, and as a receptionist for Child Protective
  Care, and she was the owner and operator of a day-care center that
  served special-needs children; and
         WHEREAS, She has been very active in Shiloh Missionary
  Baptist Church and has served as head usher, Sunday school
  teacher, and junior mission teacher; she has also been a member
  of the Texas Federation of Women's Clubs, served as president,
  vice president, treasurer, and secretary of Marian Anderson Arts
  and Letters, and is an outstanding keynote speaker; and
         WHEREAS, Bonnie Mae Clayton is a venerated member of the
  Foster family, and it is most fitting that she be honored on the
  occasion of the first annual Foster family reunion; now,
  therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 81st
  Legislature, hereby pay tribute to Bonnie Mae Clayton and extend
  to her and her extended family sincere best wishes for continued
  happiness and for a memorable and meaningful celebration; and, be
  it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this Resolution be
  prepared for Mrs. Clayton as an expression of high regard from
  the Texas Senate.
