SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 1040
         WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
  recognize Benjamin James Rivera of the Boy Scouts of America, who
  has attained the rank of Eagle Scout, a level achieved by only
  five out of every 100 boys in the program; and
 
         WHEREAS, This fine young man displayed outstanding
  leadership through the planning and execution of a service
  project that has benefited his community; and
 
         WHEREAS, Benjamin advanced through the ranks of
  Tenderfoot, Second, First, Star, and Life classes before
  reaching the rank of Eagle Scout by following the principles of
  the Scout oath and promise; and
 
         WHEREAS, By becoming an Eagle Scout, this personable young
  man has brought great distinction to himself, his family, his
  troop, his community, and his state; and
 
         WHEREAS, Benjamin is an exceptional representative of the
  State of Texas and a sterling example to all who have the good
  fortune to know him; now, therefore, be it
 
         RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 81st
  Legislature, hereby commend Benjamin James Rivera on earning the
  rank of Eagle Scout and congratulate him on his great
  achievement; and, be it further
 
         RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
  Eagle Scout Rivera as an expression of high regard from the Texas
  Senate.
