SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 1046
         WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
  recognize the Migrant Clinicians Network on the auspicious
  occasion of its 25th anniversary; and
         WHEREAS, The Migrant Clinicians Network is a national,
  nonprofit organization devoted to helping health care providers
  and communities strengthen and improve medical services and
  infrastructure for migrants and other mobile poor populations;
  it traces its roots to a 1984 meeting of clinicians concerned
  about the lack of migrant-specific resources available to
  medical professionals; and
         WHEREAS, Training and technical assistance provided by the
  Migrant Clinicians Network provides many of the elements needed
  to improve care and to increase knowledge about and foster
  creative solutions to the problems facing this underserved
  population; and
         WHEREAS, This dedicated organization offers many resources
  to professionals, including clinical courses providing
  continuing education hours, in-depth consultations, and an
  award-winning website that has provided webcasts and other
  clinical program resources; and
         WHEREAS, The Migrant Clinicians Network relies on an array
  of collaborative relationships to provide the highest quality
  services; it is truly deserving of recognition for its commitment
  to advancing better health care for vulnerable populations; now,
  therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 81st
  Legislature, hereby commend the Migrant Clinicians Network on
  its exceptional work in helping migrants and the mobile poor
  receive quality health care and extend to its members best wishes
  for a memorable and rewarding 25th anniversary; and, be it
  further
         RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
  this outstanding organization as an expression of high regard
  from the Texas Senate.
