SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 1048

WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas takes pleasure in congratulating Edmund English of Boy Scouts of America Troop 986, who recently achieved the rank of Eagle Scout; and

WHEREAS, Few are privileged to be named among the elite corps of Eagle Scouts; only five out of every 100 Boy Scouts earn this distinguished honor; and

WHEREAS, Following the principles of the Scout oath and promise, Edmund advanced through the ranks of Tenderfoot, Second, First, Star, and Life classes to Eagle Scout; and

WHEREAS, Edmund is an outstanding student, an active volunteer, and a devoted member of his church; he demonstrated his leadership skills by completing a service project that has benefited his community; and

WHEREAS, By earning the coveted Eagle Badge, this fine young man brings honor to himself, his family, and his community; he is an exemplary role model for his fellow Scouts and for the young people of Texas; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 81st Legislature, hereby congratulate Edmund English on attaining the rank of Eagle Scout and commend him on this great achievement; and, be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for Eagle Scout English as an expression of high regard from the Texas Senate.
