FROM: | John S. O'Brien, Director, Legislative Budget Board |
IN RE: | HB36 by Corte (Relating to informed consent to an abortion.), As Introduced |
The bill would require the Department of State Health Services to modify informational materials required by Section 171.014, Health and Safety Code. It would authorize the Texas Medical Board to take disciplinary action against a physician who violates Chapter 171, Health and Safety Code; the board may refuse to admit to examination or refuse to issue a license or renewal license to a person who violates the chapter.
It is assumed that any cost to implement the provisions of the bill would be minimal and could be absorbed within available resources.
