No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
The bill would amend Section 31.01, Tax Code, by adding Subsection (d-2). The new subsection would apply only to the ad valorem tax bills for certain properties located in school districts that are subject to the wealth equalization provisions of Chapter 41, Education Code. The ad valorem tax bills of single-family residences, duplexes, and triplexes would be required to include information regarding the percentage of the ad valorem taxes that would be used to meet wealth equalization provisions.
The bill would take effect on September 1, 2010
