HB252 by Berman (Relating to authorizing the appointment of students to serve as election clerks.), As Introduced

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would allow certain students to serve as election clerks.  The bill would also allow the Secretary of State to initiate or assist in the development of a statewide program promoting the use of student election clerks.  The bill would be effective September 1, 2009.


Local Government Impact

No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated. The bill would allow a student determined to be eligible by the provisions of the bill to serve as an election clerk. Under current law, election clerks are compensated, and a student serving as an election clerk would receive compensation in the same manner as an election clerk.
