IN RE:
HB265 by Berman (Relating to the applicability of sex offender registration requirements to the offense of improper relationship between educator and student.), As Introduced
No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
The bill would amend the Code of Criminal Procedure as it relates to the applicability of sex offender registration requirements to the offense of improper relationship between educator and student. The bill would include the offense of improper relationship between educator and student to the list of offenses that require registration as a sex offender upon a reportable conviction or adjudication. The Department of Public Safety indicates that any costs associated with implementing the provisions of the bill would be minimal and reasonably absorbed within current resources.
Local Government Impact
No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated. The costs associated with implementation of the bill would depend on the number of offenders required to register with local governmental entities.
