No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
The bill would amend the Family Code relating to circumstances involving extrinsic fraud in establishment of paternity. The bill would provide an avenue for relief for persons demonstrating that certain court orders identifying the person as the father of a child were obtained by fraudulent representations by the child's mother. To the extent the bill would amend court procedures in family law cases, no significant affect on judicial workloads or fiscal implication to the State is anticipated. The bill would take immediate effect if the bill receives two-thirds the vote of all members. Otherwise, the bill would take effect September 1, 2009.
