No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend the Property Code relating to expunction of a notice of lis pendens. The bill would set the parameters under which motions to expunge lis pendens must be filed along with setting criteria on which courts can rule. To the extent the bill would amend filing guidelines and court procedures, the rules change is not anticipated to increase the workload of the courts. The bill would take effect September 1, 2009.

No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
