TO: | Honorable Steve Ogden, Chair, Senate Committee on Finance |
FROM: | John S. O'Brien, Director, Legislative Budget Board |
IN RE: | HB422 by Guillen (Relating to information provided to a person applying for a state tax permit or license.), Committee Report 2nd House, Substituted |
This bill would amend the Tax Code and require the Comptroller to include a warning statement on each application for a permit or license issued by the agency that other permits or licenses could be required by state agencies and local governments of the applicant. It is assumed that any additional costs associated with implementation of the bill could be absorbed within existing state resources.
This bill would take effect immediately upon enactment, assuming that it received the requisite two-thirds majority votes in both houses of the Legislature. Otherwise, it would take effect September 1, 2009.
