The bill would allow certain peace officers and correctional officers employed by the state to accrue additional sick leave in months the employee works overtime. The sick leave accrues proportional to hours of overtime worked. Employees who work up to 20 hours of overtime in a month would earn one hour of additional sick leave that month increasing to a maximum of five hours a month in a month the employee works 80 hours or more of overtime.
