No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
The bill would establish procedures by which defined territories composed of one or more counties contiguous to either the Dallas County or the Tarrant County hospital districts could be annexed into the applicable district. Included in the procedures would be holding a hearing and an election.
Local Government Impact
The fiscal impact to Dallas County and to Tarrant County would include the cost of a hearing and of an election for each territory to be considered, as well as any costs associated with completing an annexation if approved by the voters. Although requested, no fiscal estimates were received from a sample of counties that are contiguous to Dallas County or Tarrant County; therefore, the fiscal impact to those entities is unknown.
