No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would allow a person to use a federal postcard application as a means to vote in an election.  The bill would require the Secretary of State to prescribe rules regarding federal postcard applications.  The bill would take effect September 1, 2009.


Local Government Impact

No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated. The bill would allow an unregistered voter that meets the application requirements under Title 2 of the Election Code to submit a federal postcard application to vote in an election.
