No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend the Civil Practice and Remedies Code relating to certain civil actions against persons who file complaints with governmental agencies or quasi-governmental entities.  To the extent the bill creates a new private cause of action, no significant increase in judicial workloads or fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.  The bill would take effect September 1, 2009.        

Local Government Impact

The bill would create a new private cause of action; however, according to the Office of Court Administration, no significant increase in the workload of the courts is anticipated.
