LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD
Austin, Texas

FISCAL NOTE, 81ST LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION

March 25, 2009

TO:
Honorable Lois W. Kolkhorst, Chair, House Committee on Public Health

FROM:
John S. O'Brien, Director, Legislative Budget Board

IN RE:
HB594 by King, Tracy O. (Relating to the licensing and regulation of hearing instrument fitters and dispensers.), Committee Report 1st House, Substituted

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend sections of Chapter 402, Occupations Code, by modifying requirements for licensing of hearing instrument fitters and dispensers. The Department of State Health Services assumes that costs related to modifying the existing licensing program can be absorbed within current resources.

Local Government Impact

No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
