IN RE: | HB598 by Hughes (Relating to the information displayed on certain licenses.), As Engrossed |
The bill would amend Transportation Code, Chapter 521 and Government Code, Chapter 411 which would allow a federal judge, state judge, and their spouses to use the courthouse street address in which they serve as a judge on their driver license in lieu of their residence address and requires the Department of Public Safety (DPS) to establish the procedure for this process. The bill requires DPS to establish a procedure for the license of a qualified handgun instructor. The bill would take effect on September 1, 2009.
DPS anticipates no significant fiscal impact to the agency.
