IN RE:
HB705 by Rose (Relating to providing certain documents and training to children in the conservatorship of the Department of Family and Protective Services.), Committee Report 1st House, Substituted
No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
The bill would require the Department of Family and Protective Services, in cooperation with the Texas Education Agency and the Department of Public Safety, to develop a plan to ensure that each child in permanent managing conservatorship has an opportunity to complete a driver's education course and obtain a driver's license before leaving conservatorship. It also requires the agency to report the results of the plan to the Legislature not later than December 1, 2010. The agencies indicate any cost to implement provisions of the bill would be minimal and can be absorbed within available resources.
Local Government Impact
No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
