FISCAL NOTE, 81ST LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION

March 9, 2009

TO:
Honorable Dan Branch, Chair, House Committee on Higher Education

FROM:
John S. O'Brien, Director, Legislative Budget Board

IN RE:
HB962 by Guillen (Relating to the purchase of library goods and services by public junior colleges.), As Introduced

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

Local Government Impact

This bill would exempt public community colleges' acquisition of certain library materials from the contracting requirements defined in Education Code 44.031.  If follows that the fiscal impact to local community colleges districts would depend on the sorts of library materials/acquisitions contracts negotiated by individual districts.
