HB984 by Veasey (Relating to the election and qualifications of the commissioner of insurance.), As Introduced

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The provisions of the bill would provide for the election of the commissioner of insurance rather than appointment by the Governor and amends the term of office from two years to four years. The bill would amend the qualifications for becoming the commissioner of insurance and would repeal ineligibility for public office and grounds for removal. 

Local Government Impact

No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
