IN RE:
HB999 by Dutton (Relating to the closure of a school campus by the board of trustees of a school district.), As Introduced
No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
The Texas Education Agency would incur administrative costs to provide the review and approval of school board closure decsions that would be required under the bill. Agency analysis of organization data indicate that 147 schools were closed in calendar year 2008. Assuming that campus closure decisions would remain in this range each year, the Agency estimates ongoing administrative costs of about $160,000 each year associated with an additional 2.0 FTEs.
Local Government Impact
No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
