IN RE: | HB1128 by McReynolds (Relating to certain corrective actions by the Texas Board of Nursing, including a pilot program on deferred disciplinary action; providing corrective actions.), Committee Report 1st House, Substituted |
The bill would authorize the Board of Nursing to impose a corrective action on a person licensed or regulated who commits a violation. The bill would set the terms of the corrective action and reporting requirements.
The bill would also require the Texas Board of Nursing to determine the feasibility of conducting a pilot program designed to evaluate the efficacy of board deferral of disciplinary action against a licensee. If the board determines the pilot program is feasible, the board shall develop and implement the pilot program no later than February 1, 2011 and conclude the program by January 1, 2014. The bill would require the Board of Nursing to appoint an advisory committee to assist the board in overseeing the pilot program.
The Texas Board of Nursing indicates that any costs associated with the bill could be absorbed within the agency's existing resources.
